Free for Google Meet · works in web Zoom and Teams

Turn your Meet camera into a news channel.

Breaking news headlines, fighting game health bars that drain with the meeting clock, a video player that buffers on cue, a boss fight against the meeting and a nature documentary about you. Drawn right on your camera, so everyone in the call sees it.

Chrome extension in Web Store reviewSet up your show

Breaking News: Headline, LIVE clock, name strap and a crawling ticker

Drag anything to move it.

In Meet: Alt+Shift and the key (Option+Shift on a Mac).

Fill from my team calendar

Who's out today and this week from your Forgot board, so the joke is also the standup update.

How it works. Four steps, one of them is fun.

  1. Step 1

    Add the extension

On Air is a free Chrome extension. It works in Chrome, Edge, Brave and Arc.

  2. Step 2

    Pick On Air camera

In Meet, open the camera menu or video settings and pick On Air camera (Forgot). Turn off Meet's own background effects.

  3. Step 3

    Set it up here

Type your name, pick a show, roll the dice for a headline. Everything you change here lands in your call within a frame.

  4. Step 4

    Fire the moments

Alt+Shift (Option+Shift on a Mac) and a key while the Meet tab is open, or the buttons in the extension's menu.

One key, one moment. Timing is the whole joke.

Alt+Shift and the key while the Meet tab is open (Option+Shift on a Mac), or tap them in the extension's menu. Each one plays for a couple of seconds and gets out of the way. Write your own words for any of them, and star the ones you use so they wait at the top. Want only these? Pick Just moments and your camera stays clean until you press one.

Stays on your computer. Nothing to upload.

Your video stays put

The graphics and the background cut-out are drawn inside Chrome. No video, picture or name leaves your laptop.

Works where Chrome does

Google Meet, and the browser versions of Zoom and Teams. Pick On Air camera (Forgot) as your camera.

Free, with a small mark

A forgot.dev mark sits in a corner. That's the whole price.

Questions

Can the others in the call see it?

Yes. The graphics are drawn into your camera picture, so everyone in the call sees them, recordings included. Google Meet's own effects only change what's behind you; this adds the headline, the health bars and the forecast on top.

Why does my own text look backwards?

It doesn't with On Air. Meet mirrors your own preview, so text would read backwards to you, while everyone else sees it the right way round. The extension flips your own preview back while the On Air camera is on.

Does it work in Zoom and Teams?

In the browser versions of Zoom and Microsoft Teams, yes: pick On Air camera (Forgot) as your camera. The desktop apps don't load Chrome extensions.

Does it slow my laptop down?

Graphics alone cost very little. A replaced or blurred background is the heavy part, because it cuts you out of every frame; on an older laptop pick My room and keep just the graphics.

Is my video uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything happens inside Chrome on your computer, including the background cut-out. The extension sends one anonymous ping a day when a camera turns on (no name, no video, no ids), so we know it's being used.

Can I remove the forgot.dev mark?

The small forgot.dev mark is how a free tool pays for itself. Removing it will be a perk for Forgot customers.

What does Fill from my Forgot board do?

Forgot is a team calendar of who's out, who's on call and what's due. If your team uses it, one click fills the ticker with who's out today and turns Team Forecast into this week's real availability.

Made by Forgot, the calendar of who's out.

Forgot puts your team's vacations, public holidays and release dates on one board, so you see who's out before you promise a date. Then Team Forecast fills itself in.
