Spreadsheet alternative
Replace the team vacation spreadsheetwithout rolling out an HR tool.
Paste your team in from Google Sheets or Excel, drag in time off and share a read-only link. You keep the best part of the spreadsheet, that nobody else has to do anything, and lose the merged cells.
One-time payment, no subscription. 20 of 20 left at $9, then $19.

Color codes only you remember. A copy called “PTO v2 FINAL” that someone edited last week. Checking who's out on the 16th means scrolling sideways through merged cells, and on-call is in a different sheet.
You're the one keeping it updated anyway. Forgot makes that part faster and puts the answer one click away.
How it works
Paste your team in, drag in who's out.
Copy the name, team and city columns and paste them in, one person per line. Tabs and commas both work. A preview shows who will be added.
Forgot or the spreadsheet? Side by side.
| Forgot | Spreadsheet | |
|---|---|---|
| Getting your team in | Paste rows from Sheets or Excel | Already there |
| Adding time off | Drag across the days | Fill cells and pick a color |
| Who's out on a given day | Click the day | Scroll and read across rows |
| Half days and tentative plans | Built in | Your own color code |
| Release dates | Warns when someone's out that day | Only if you check by hand |
| Sharing | Read-only link you can turn off | Share settings, and hope nobody edits |
| Price | One payment, no subscription | Free, plus your time |
Is it a fit? Honest answer.
Forgot is a good fit if
- You're the one who keeps the vacation spreadsheet updated
- You want a calendar without asking your team to sign up for anything
- You'd like on-call and release dates in the same place
Look elsewhere if
- You track PTO balances or accruals (Forgot doesn't)
- Everyone on the team needs to edit it (in Forgot, only you edit)
Questions
Can I import my existing spreadsheet?
You can paste people in: copy the rows and paste them into Add people. Time off isn't imported. Drag in what's coming up, since the next few months are what you plan around.
Can other people edit it?
No, only you edit. Everyone else gets a read-only link that opens in any browser with no account.
Is there a free version?
There's a 14-day trial with the full editor and no card. After that your calendars become view-only, with your data kept, until you buy a lifetime license. There's no subscription.
Does it track PTO balances?
No. Forgot shows who's out and when. It doesn't count allowances, accruals or carry-over.
What happens after I pay?
Gumroad handles checkout, including sales tax, and emails your receipt. Sign in at forgot.dev with the same email. If you started a trial with that email, your calendars are still there. 14-day refund, no questions asked.
