Working with a team in Mexico: what to know.

Mexico has seven legal days off a year, and three of them are Mondays: Constitution Day (first Monday of February), Benito Juárez's birthday (third Monday of March) and Revolution Day (third Monday of November). Election days count too, and every six years so does October 1, when a new president takes office (next in 2030). Anyone who works a legal holiday is paid double on top of their normal pay.

Holy Week isn't on the legal list, but it's the week to plan around. Government offices, schools and banks close on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, and many private employers give the days too: in a 2024 OCC survey, about half of workers had them off. The calendar shows both as worked; switch them on if your team gets them.

November 2 (Day of the Dead) and December 12 (the Day of the Virgin of Guadalupe) close banks, but they aren't legal holidays, so most offices work.
