How much they talk

Looks like the real thing from across the room.

  • Gallery or speaker view

A grid of everyone, or the person talking big with the others in a strip on top, just like Zoom's two main views.

  • The green outline

Zoom marks the active speaker with a green border. Here it moves between people as they take turns.

  • Names the Zoom way

With video off, Zoom shows the name in the middle of the tile and again in the corner, with a red muted mic.

  • The toolbar

Unmute, Start Video, Participants with the count, Chat, React, Share, Record and the red End button.

How to use the fake call.

  2. 2Add the peopleOne name per line, up to 15. Keep ours, press New names, or type your real team's names.
  3. 3Set the moodOne person presenting, a normal meeting, or a debate where everyone jumps in. Add muffled voices if you want sound.
  4. 4Join full screenThe call fills the screen and the mouse hides. Esc, or the red button, brings you back.

A Zoom call on the screen, without a Zoom call.

The page draws everything itself: there's no Zoom account, no meeting ID and no app behind it, so there's nothing to join, record or leak. Your camera and microphone stay off; the page never asks for them.

Click your own microphone (or press M) and it unmutes, and the red End button takes you back here, so it holds up if someone leans over and clicks around.

Forgot is a team calendar that shows everyone's vacations, public holidays and on-call on one board, and warns you when someone's away on a release date. So the real meetings land on days people are actually in.

Questions

How do I make a fake Zoom meeting?

Add the names of the people you want on the call, pick gallery or speaker view, and press Join the call full screen. It fills your screen and plays on its own until you press Esc.

Is this connected to Zoom?

No. It's a lookalike drawn in your browser and isn't made by or affiliated with Zoom. No Zoom account or app is needed.

Does anyone see me or hear me?

No. It's a web page that draws a call on your screen. It never connects to Zoom, Teams or Google Meet, never turns on your camera or microphone, and nothing you type leaves your browser.

Will it change my Teams or Slack status?

No. Your real status comes from the real app, and a web page can't touch it. If you want to know what does keep Teams green (and what doesn't), there's a guide for that linked below.

Can I make the people talk?

They take turns already: whoever is talking gets the outline, and the turns follow the pace you pick, from one person presenting to a lively debate. Turn on Muffled voices and you'll also hear quiet, wordless talking and room tone, the way a call sounds from headphones on the desk.

Does it work on a phone?

It plays on any phone, but iPhones don't let web pages go truly full screen, so the browser bar stays visible. It looks most real on a laptop or a monitor.

Is it free?

Yes, with no sign-up and no watermark on the call. It's made by Forgot, a team calendar for vacations and release dates, as a free tool.
