About Remembrance Day.

Remembrance Day honors members of the armed forces who died in the line of duty, on the anniversary of the 1918 armistice. At 11:00 am, Canadians pause for two minutes of silence.

It's a statutory holiday federally and in most provinces, but not in Ontario or Quebec. Manitoba and Nova Scotia have their own Remembrance Day rules rather than a regular statutory holiday.
