What the policy says.
- Wealth Management (about 15,000 advisors plus staff): at least 4 office days a week from May 5, 2025, per a memo from wealth head Jed Finn.
- Wealth Management supervisors: 5 days a week unless exempted (Funds Society).
- Exceptions possible 'with manager and/or advisor approval'.
- Since July 1, 2022, Wealth Management brokers have been capped at 90 remote-work days a year. Going beyond that needs an approved alternate work location with extra supervision.
- Former CEO James Gorman (Jan 2023): remote work is 'not an employee choice', and 'Five days in the office for everybody is not going to happen again.'
- A recruiter told AdvisorHub that external logins are tracked. This is not company-confirmed.
